Mr Micawber

Mr Micawber, our Muscovy drake is enjoying his Christmas spread while giving thanks that we had goose for ours this year. Oh, I really should become vegetarian again shouldn't I.

Mr Micawber has had an air of sadness about him for a while now; I don't know if this is because his two companions have gone or because his owner has died recently. We comfort him as best we can.

Since I have to be at work tomorrow at 7am I thought I would say a little prayer for all the stressed out people that have to work in the hospitals and the fire stations and the coastguard and the police stations and the DFS and the B and Q and wherever else.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill today because they got on my nerves. And also, help me to be careful of the toes I step on today as they may be connected to the feet I may have to kiss tomorrow. Help me always to give 100% at work...
12% on Monday
23% on Tuesday
40% on Wednesday
20% on Thursday
and 5% on Friday
And help me to remember...
When I am having a bad day and it seems that people are trying to wind me up, it takes 42 muscles to frown, 28 to smile and only 4 to extend my arm and smack someone in the mouth.

He needs a bit of fattening up for next year methinks. I had stuffed toasted cat on Xmas Day. Stuffed with Sheba's poshest range and then toasted gently in front of a radiator to aid digestion. We're having more of the same today, but the cat is demanding a different flavour stuffing!

Season's Greetings.

Aww, but the favorite seed catalog arrived today. On to garden dreams. Tomorrow, more cleaning off the desk... the floor ... the shelves and recycling paper. Haven't looked at it in a year, probably won't need to! Good chance too with so many away.

Sure Mr. Mic appreciates your attentions. Does he get along with the chickens?

llewtah: you are watching too many cookery programs - get a life ;-)

PG: This year we do mostly be ordering from the Real Seed catalogue and we will overdo it as usual much to their delight and our embarrasment. Along with Mr Micawber we have inherited an ENORMOUS greenhouse, three cockerels and three geese. Mic gets on ok with the chickens but gets bullied by the geese. Those geese have gotta go!

Geese are vicious bad tempered creatures. I was once chased by a gaggle of the damn things, I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life!

Wishing you a very happy new year! May all your plants grow! (apart from the weeds obviously!)

Helena: Thanks and a Very Happy New Year to you and yours. Actually I'm getting very fond of the geese too; they're as soft as butter and not agressive at all. They will be going though, but only next door to join a neighbours flock.

Weeds? What weeds? *sigh*

Mr Micawber looks like he has real character! Surely just a pet? or are you searching for recipes?

Hi Matron: Mr Micawber came with the plot. He is not destined for the pot as I am very fond of him and am a complete wimp. We have just made him a little pond to play in and he loves it.

Sounds like you are off to a good start for the new year and sorted out the geese issue. The word here is homeless goats in foster care due to their caretaker passing on. Not sure we're up for that. Glad you could help out with the fowl.
Happy Greenhouse Dreams! Paula
